Alma Tell was a silent screen actress and the younger sister of Olive Tell

She was born on March 27, 1898 in New York City. Alma and her sister Olive were educated at a convent in Madison, New Jersey. Then they were sent to finishing schools in London and Paris. Both sisters decided to pursue acting careers. At the age of seventeen Alma graduated from the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. In 1915 he made her film debut in Simon, the Jester directed by Edward Jose. That same year she starred in the Broadway play Our Children. The lovely brunette was signed by Paramount and had small roles in Nearly Married and The Right To Love.

She starred opposite Bela Lugosi in the 1923 drama The Secret Command. While her sister Olive became an A-list star Alma continued to get smaller roles. During the 1920s she appeared in several Broadway plays including Odd Man Out. When We Were Young, and These Charming People. She married actor Stanley Blystone in 1932. Her final film was the 1934 drama Imitation Of Life. Sadly on December 29, 1937 she died from a heart attack at the young age of thirty-nine. Alma was buried at Valhalla Memorial Park in North Hollywood, California.
